As promised, here are the recaps for my wedding in August!

I slept in until 7:30 am (yes, it is sleeping in – that’s what time I usually start work at!) and went for a run with my sister Anne, my maid of honour. Note that I am by no means a runner – I would much rather bike. However, I have this tendency to start biking and not stop for a long while, which wasn’t desirable for being on time on my wedding day.

The shower cap pictured above was a present from my brides-matron from her honeymoon in Oklahoma! As a child, I used to really like cows, so it was a fitting gift and kept my hair dry for my updo later on.

Then it was to the hair salon for us! There was a bit of an interesting time arranging hair appointment times as people at the salon kept on quitting, but it worked out in the end. I met my Heather, my best friend for our hair appointments at 9 am. The other two had their hair appointments at 10 and 10:15. Once my hair was done, it was make up time!

By the time Anne arrived, I was almost done my hair, so there are no “making of” shots. But, we can oogle at the other lovely ladies:

See the guy doing Laurel’s hair? He did my hair, too. I really liked my hair except for my bangs. You’ll notice in previous photos and pictures to come that the bangs never quite stayed in place. I guess it’s partially my fault because I had someone trim my bangs in a supposed side-bang for $8CAD. But, there was also this stray hair that he refused to put up in the back, so he cut it shorter to add to my bangs. So why wasn’t I up in arms about this? Well, I didn’t want to get in a huge huff about my hair getting cut when I knew I was going to cut it soon anyways. Maybe that extra bit made the bangs extra heavy, but I’ll never know. Other than that, I think he did an excellent job!

Here you can (kind of) see my hair through my veil as I patiently wait for my make up to be done.

We then headed out to Laurel’s van to drive to my parents house for lunch before our photographer arrived. But not before this shot:

Yes, we are just this cool.

We had to walk through the Safeway that I used to work at to get to the van. One of my old coworkers was working that day and she just about died of happiness. I thought it was really cute!

Lucky for us, Anne made good use of her time before coming for her hair appointment – she made us crepes! (No, I had absolutely no problem eating. I’m a stress eater, so that probably helped.)

Next up: The photographer arrives and we get dressed!

I will probably do some kind of wedding recap. Then perhaps a few more wedding related things to help me deal with PWTS and show off my wonderful husband. Or if I am feeling creative.

Yes, we’re both silly goofs. But we have fun together and it was captured in our pictures, so I am happy.

Shame on me, I haven’t posted in a ridiculously long time. But I’m married now, so I guess this blog is somewhat redundant. However, I do have some fun stuff to share!

Since many of my friends have gotten married in the last year and a half, we thought it would be fun to take our dresses out of the closet and take some pictures! Unfortunately, only three on us could make it this weekend, but it was a blast! Our friend Mark of By Design Visuals is a budding photographer in Calgary and graciously offered to take our pictures.

Being all artsy

The pictures were taken in Heritage Park in Calgary, which makes an excellent back drop! My favourite part was all the little girls staring and exclaiming “Those are princesses!”.  You can see a sample of the pictures on his blog here.
