To begin where we left off, the Bean Bridal party had just eaten a wonderful lunch of Crepes, courtesy of my sister. Now it was time to get the bridesmaids all dressed before the photographer arrived!
Heather was a champion at lacing up the backs of dresses – she did mine and Laurel’s! If you look at the picture frame in the picture on the left, you can see my family’s old fashioned photos from approximately 10 years ago!
When my photographer, Kathleen Geortzen arrived, she proceeded to take some detail pictures while we putzed around.
Remember last time about me explaining my bang angst? Well, we even have a picture of us fixing it before anything even started.
Then it was onto dressing the bride!
Note that it took 3 times to get my dress on correctly. This was because I had some last minute weight loss around my middle/hips, so the dress was too big and so the first two times it sat weirdly on me. The third time was a charm, but the dress did slip down slightly throughout the day. (Note, this = cleavage shot = bad.)
TIP: If you have a corseted dress, make sure that you have leeway in the laces for both weight gain AND loss.
Since none of us ladies knew how to tie the laces into a neck-tie knot, my dad came and did it. I don’t know why he’s smiling so much, but it probably has to do with the fact that he is embarrassing his daughter.
Next we put on the garter and I was ready to get married!
But not before a few bridal portraits:
… and attempted photos with my dog:
Lucky, you could at least pretend to be happy. But poor Lucky was quite concerned about all the goings on (she’s blind and knows when something big is happening, especially when she can’t come.)
Next up: The Ceremony!
First two photos taken by my sister, the rest are taken by Kathleen Goertzen of Precious Portrait.
Oh, those shoes are amazing!! These pictures are so much fun 🙂
Your puppy is so adorable! I love disables animals, I think they are so sweet. The shot with your dad is a great one, you do look a little bit embarrassed and he looks just a little bit mischievous.
So much energy and excitement in these shots! You highlight my big fear about the Mori Lee. I should either go down a size or not lose any weight, because I’ve already got it cinched in as far as it can go.
I’m going to go back and try it on again with the Betina as soon as I kick this cold… I’ll let you know how it goes. (With pictures I hope!)
kaymarie – Thanks! I’m quite partial to those shoes, especially since I went through quite a few rejects. We ended up finding those about 2-3 weeks before the wedding and my mum wore the same pair in white!
Jenna – Thanks! I think I’ll have to do a post on my dog someday, she’s such a trooper.
Zoliepup – I’m looking forward to seeing those pictures! I’m glad that I can help (if even a tiny bit) in any dress decisions! 🙂
